The Medical Assisting Certificate Program is designed to provide students with hands-on training in both the clinical and administrative procedures necessary for a career as a Medical Assistant.
These multi-skilled allied health professionals assist the medical office by answering telephones, greeting patients, updating and filing patient records and handling correspondence. They also work under the direction of a physician to check vital signs, collect and prep lab specimens, sterilize medical equipment and draw blood. The importance of developing office skills, communication skills and human relations is emphasized throughout the program.
