| Salter College Announces the Appointment of a Provost |

Salter College, is pleased to announce that Dr. Tuesday L. Cooper has been appointed as Provost of Salter College, effective May 19, 2010. She has a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University, a law degree from Western New England College School of Law, and a doctorate from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Dr. Cooper was a Special Assistant to the Provost at Empire State College, State University of New York where she has served in administrative capacities since 2007, including Dean of the Long Island Regional Center from 2007 to 2008. Her range of responsibilities involved professional and organizational development, higher education policy initiatives, strategic planning process and activities and academic, administrative and fiscal leadership. Prior to her position at Empire State College, Dr. Cooper was Associate Dean in the School of Education and Professional Studies at Eastern Connecticut State University where she managed and coordinated all activities related to graduate admissions, retention, and graduation efforts. In addition, Dr. Cooper has taught in the School of Education at Walden University and at Springfield College, Western New England College, School of Law and Asnuntuck Community College. Her diverse background includes working as a staff attorney at the Western Massachusetts Legal Services and a family services coordinator at the Civic League of Greater New Brunswick.
Highlights of her career include the Nellie Mae Foundation Future Leaders Award, Administrative Fellow in the Connecticut Community College system, Fellow in the Center for Teaching at University of Massachusetts and Frederick Douglass Teaching Fellow at the West Chester University of Pennsylvania. She has published several articles on diversity and teaching techniques and presented at numerous conferences on diversity and adjunct faculty teaching and needs.
Dr. Cooper is an ideal choice who brings to this position both extensive experience and a passion for promoting student success. Her past experience in the State University of New York will be valuable to Salter College in pursuing our goals of expanding learning opportunities and enhancing the quality of student life.
